Payroll giving

Payroll Giving

Payroll Giving (also known as Give as You Earn) is an easy and tax-free way of giving to AMREF directly from your salary, making it one of the most efficient ways of supporting us. What’s more, if your company has policy of matching employee donations it will make your support go even further.

You can authorise your payroll department to deduct regular donations from your salary if your company offers payroll giving. Your donations are taken before tax which means that…

  • If you are a basic rate taxpayer (22%) then it will cost you just £7.80 to make a £10 donation to AMREF
  • If you are a higher rate taxpayer (40%) then it will cost you only £12 to make a £20 donation to AMREF

Here's what your donation could mean to some of Africa's poorest communities:

  • 1 hour's pay each month could provide four children in Kibera, Africa's largest slum, with all of the six immunisations they need in one year
  • 1 day's pay each year could buy bicycles for two health workers in rural Uganda- allowing them to visit and follow up with patients
  • 1% of your annual salary could buy 50 people in Ethiopia an insecticide- treated bednet used to prevent malaria, Africa's biggest child killer

If you’re an employer and would like to set up a payroll giving scheme, or if you have any questions about payroll giving then please call 020 7269 5520 or email payrollgiving@amrefuk.org
